The service is impeccable, and the no-tip policy adds to the overall dining experience.
With a wood-burning oven churning out piping hot pizzas, 2 Amys Neapolitan Pizzeria brings a taste of true Italian pizza to DC. The unique seasoning and hint of spiciness in the pizzas set them apart, although some dishes may run a bit salty due to anchovies. Despite this, the overall quality and flavors make it a top choice for authentic Italian pizza lovers.

Yum yum yum! I went on a Saturday night and we got there around five and by 6 o'clock. The place was totally packed. A nice local hang out and just really good pizza. The salad and apps great of quality as well.
Ordered online and the service was superb. Everything we ordered was delicious. Would recommend ordering from here anytime we are in town.
Love love love this restaurant. It's such a gem. The food and service are both impeccable and it feels like you're eating in Europe. Highlyyyy recommend the Etna 2.0 eggplant pizza. I didn't even think I'd like it that much from the sound of it but BOY was it the best pizza I've ever put in my mouth. I'm still dreaming about it to this day. All the appetizers I've tried are mouth wateringly delicious, especially the meatballs. Also recommend the almond cake!!! Scrumptious. Even their cappuccino is A++. Skip all the restaurants nearby and come here, you won't regret it. Bonus: no tip!! Cost of service is included with the food :)
This is a place my son found when he was a professional ballet dancer for Washington Ballet. We would frequent this restaurant whenever we were in town for a performance or show. The pizza is the closest pizza I have had to true Italian pizza outside of Italy. To say it is amazing is an understatement. The pizza is cooked in a wood burning oven and comes out piping hot. The cheese is truly what makes this pizza so good. We had not been in a while so this was a slice of heaven . Since, the last time we went the restaurant had chosen not to add a gratuity line to your bill and are now charging prices which allow staff to be paid fairly. This was a nice change to see and the only restaurant in this country where I have seen that . Highly recommend if you are in DC to check this restaurant out. Reservations are NOT accepted and they do get packed on a Friday and Saturday night so come early. Wonderful casual dining experience in DC.
Upon our arrival in DC, my family and I immediately headed to lunch. Since we drove to DC and needed to charge our car, my husband expressed his craving for pizza. A quick Google search led us to 2 Amy's, just a 4-minute walk from the charging station. What a exciting discovery it turned out to be! Upon entering the restaurant, the bustling atmosphere instantly transported us to an authentic Italian pizza spot in Italy. The lively ambiance, with employees skillfully crafting pizzas in full view, added to the charm. Despite the crowded indoor seating, we opted for the patio, which although pleasant, was a bit warm. While they had fans, I recommend more powerful ones for hotter days, though it wasn't uncomfortable enough to move inside. Our server, whose name escapes me, was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended 2 pizzas since there were three of us in our group. Along with a not-so-great coke (it was a little flat) and water, the delicious pizza arrived promptly. The unique seasoning of the pizza, with a delightful hint of spiciness that I particularly enjoyed, stood out. I also appreciated the no-tip policy of the restaurant, although contributions to their virtual tip jar are welcomed at https://2amyspizza.com/checkout/donate?donatePageId=5eea673eb4aede41d0ccf03a. The well-maintained and spotlessly clean bathroom reflected the overall high standards of the bustling and popular restaurant. My only regret was not indulging in a glass of wine during our visit.
i have to eat at 2 Amy's every time i travel to DC. my company is headquartered here, so that's 2-3 x per year. It is an excellent restaurant in every way. their napolitano pizza has to be in the top 5 of the USA. it is certified DOC italiano and stuff. their appetizers, salads, soups, drinks, and desserts are just as good. it's a beautiful space, with two nice patios, and the service is always spot on. i've recommended it to many people over the years and they've become regulars as well. they do not accept reservations, and they frown on tipping (there's no tip line on the bill, but you could leave cash). the neighborhood is super desirable and hard to find parking in, but there's a reasonably priced parking garage right next door. if you're a fan of authentic italian pizza, you've got to go :-) .
This place has very thin and amazing soft pizza crust, which is great for thin crust lovers. However, one caveat, pizzas here do tend to run a bit salty. Or maybe it was because of the anchovies on all pizzas I tried so far: - Puttanesca 2.0 pizza - love the ingredients/flavors but it was a bit too salty for me. Perhaps the anchovies made everything taste quite salty. If the saltiness level was taken down a notch, I think it would've been perfect. - Today's special cauliflower & anchovies pizza - quite salty with anchovies and capers on top of that. I don't think I'd order that again. - Polpettine al forno - good, solid meatballs Service was excellent and kind.
Pizzas: 8.5/10, super thin, tasty pizzas with unique toppings like eggplant and rapini; I like a crispier bottom and due to the toppings it did get soggy pretty quick Meatballs: 9/10, flavorful with tangy tomato sauce, just wish the bread crust was softer, especially since I went with my grandparents Mixed greens salad: 5/10, the dressing was overly sour and it was a pretty overpriced salad with no toppings for $10 It's a nice place to stop for lunch if you're in the National Cathedral area! It's pretty bustling, although there was no line during Sunday lunch.
